Capitalism

I'm inclined to agree with Naomi Klein, the Canadian writer of "No Logo" fame who continually rails against the excesses of Capitalism. In her latest effort, "This Changes Everything - Capitalism vs. The Climate", she again beats the drum that corporate capitalistic corruption and greed is what's at the bottom of much of our world conflagrations and makes a strong argument that our current climate crisis is due to economic factors, driven by corporate interventions that have turned our delicately balanced ecosystem into a toxic playground for international corporate hucksters.
“our economic system and our planetary system are now at war. Or, more accurately, our economy is at war with many forms of life on earth, including human life. What the climate needs to avoid collapse is a contraction in humanity’s use of resources; what our economic model demands to avoid collapse is unfettered expansion. Only one of these sets of rules can be changed, and it’s not the laws of nature.”
Change rarely comes through sound reasoning, foresight, and lessons learned from history. Instead, we seem to require a catalyst of sorts to shock us into making sound moves, which we then do reluctantly.
Time does not seem to be our friend. We are running out of it and haven't learned much from it. I worry. Excessively.

Capitalism

Our dalliance
More than dalliance
Likely obsession
More than likely
Our addiction
All the time
All money
Oily words
Oil wars
Drug wars
Drug Words
MONEY
WORDS
DEEDS
ALL
THE
TIME
MONEY
All money
All the time.
